Design, artistic direction and executive production of the project.
The idea behind the project stands for the reclaim of the urban space of Athens historic centre, nowadays confronting various socio-political issues.
We designed a 3-days project based on the philosophy of community activities and audience's participation.
Activities included: museum sightseeing, book exhibition, photography exhibition, live performances, film screenings, outdoors fitness session, bicycle sightseeing tour, participatory open air installations and stencils, table games, street theatre, acrobatics, percussions parade, street party, activities for children and an open debate.

The scope of the festival was to promote the creativity to an intercultural and interreligious dialogue among local populations and muslims.

The festival, having the city of Athens as its epicentre, was created to project the different pieces that combine the puzzle of the artistic identity of a contemporary metropolis.
In its first year focused on immigrant artists who reside in Athens, engaged with different fields of art.
In Puzzle Festival 09, 4 theatre and 2 dance performances, 12 live gigs, 15 cinema screenings and 53 artworks were projected - all of them created or chosen especially for the event.
About 60 artists from 18 countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Moldavia, Poland, Armenia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Tunisia, Bosnia, Nigeria, Romania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Cyprus) participated in Puzzle Festival 09.
In the morning zone of the event, a 3-day conference under the subject “Words on Works: Aspects of cultural production of immigrant artists” was held with the aim to stand as the theoretical, supplementary pole of the artistic projects.

A project based on the classical tale “The Tin Soldier” written by Hans Christian Andersen.
A play about a tin soldier - a toy that has never been played because it was made a “cripple”.
A few seconds before his exile from the child’s room, he closes his eyes and prays to find a world somewhere, where he can belong as equal.
When he opens his eyes, he stands among us, human being between human beings.
Through scenes rolling like comic strips, we witness his first human experiences, the awakening of his body, the consequences of his choices, his social progress to maturity, his journey to wisdom.
Yet, a question arises:
Is this the world he prayed for?
...The game has just begun...

Against a backdrop of riots in the streets, the story is presented through a series of portraits - vignettes of his life that illustrate his perception of reality, where the dead and the living co-exist.
